Friday Night with Friends

My Friday night with Friends was spent with 30's scraps.  My Quilt Shop's Scrap Club is doing the quilt Susan's Folly designed by Susan Claire.  I chose to use my 30's scraps and there are LOTS of 1 1/2" strips and as you probably see in the picture they're all over the sewing table.

There are 49 blocks along with 64 alternate blocks (the ones above without the green sashing) and along with other sashing and borders will be about 88" square.  We're suppose to be done with the top by October 2013.

My Mini for 12 inch Mini Club is complete and ready to send.

....And I put the binding on a quilt from 1985 this past week.....I had my DH in the basement looking for my fabrics left over from this quilt.  I told him it was in the container 3 stacks back on the bottom.  The stacks were from floor to ceiling and and each time he lifted one down he said: "Is this it?"  After about 12 times he decided it must be the one on the bottom and continued with the search.

I learned to hand piece and a month later I started this BOM.  I think it was from a book called the Legacy quilt.  My mom had started to quilt it but then passed away in 1987.  Last year I brought it to Dan and he did am amazing job!  Each square has a different quilting design and I love the quilting in the borders and sashing...Thanks Dan!

Stop by and see what the other Ladies were working at Friday night with Friends hosted by Cheryll at Gone Stitchin'.

What a wonderful group of projects. The 30's quilt is looking good but the hand pieced one is just amazing. What a huge task to sew all those pieces by hand. The quilt is gorgeous!

Those 30's blocks are gorgeous, and I love the mini too! Now that sampler is what I would call a long-term project, it's so lovely that you are getting it finished.
