FNwF

I know it's Sunday but I had a great FNwF.  My daughter was accepted into a juried Art Show/Sale and the ladies I sew with on the last Friday of the month all came by to see my daughter's work and then we went out to dinner.  It was a great night!

I did do a little sewing on the weekend...

My Friday night group has nick named this quilt the "Pointless Quilt" because these 6" blocks have so many pieces it's easy to lose some points.

This package arrived for me this past week.  It's from my Santa Sack partner Debbieann.  We're waiting to hear from Santa Cheryll as to when we can open our presents.

Thank you Cheryll for setting up FNwF and the Santa Sack Swap!
Visit Cheryll's blog to see what everyone was sewing...that's my plan for Monday after work.

Happy Stitching!

One Flower Wednesday on Thursday and Mother's Day Swap

First of all I'd like to thank Anthea (Hibiscus Stitches) for the email....I didn't realize how long it's been since I posted and visited all the blogs I enjoy so much.  Work has been trying and stressful and I let it take too much of my "free time" from me.

I joined three flowers to my garden, it's been so long since I worked on my hexies.  This week I'm planning on making more leaves and stepping stones and will post my progress next Wednesday.  Visit the other gardens at Karen's One Flower Wednesday and see how their gardens are blooming.

This is the beautiful Mother's Day mini quilt I received from Helen.  I showed the mini or a picture of it to many of my friends here and I didn't realize I had not posted it.  It's Gorgeous!  These pictures don't show off her beautiful stitching - thanks again Helen for this lovely quilt.  (it's still hanging in my living room - flowers look good all year).  Helen also sent many goodies and I especially liked the licorice/chocolate logs - YUM!

Here are pictures of the mini I made for Helen

Thanks to Cheryll for hosting this 12 inch mini swap.  The "winter" mini swap is now underway and I have already been working on that.

Good Night for now...I leave for work in about six hours....

Happy Stitching,
Danette

Colour Swap

After a long ride home and a BUSY 11 hour work day I came home to find a package from Wendy.  It made my Day!  I know most people take a picture before opening but I just dug right in.  (they were wrapped up pretty with the red and white polka dotted ribbon in the pictures).

Look at all the RED goodies Wendy sent!  Thank you for all the special gifts.
She crochets beautifully.
I love the red cup pin cushion with the red pins...

and this red flower crochet mat will look wonderful in the kitchen - so pretty!

and I received chocolates (YUM!) , a nicely red scented candle, three pretty red fabrics, a red seam ripper (always needed), red needle threaders, red floss, red rick rack and a beautiful red card.

I'm thinking...  Redwork with a red pieced border... I need to find a pattern.

Thanks again Wendy for everything!

Initial Heart Swap

Look what came in the Mail!
Theresa at Bumbleberry Stitches sent all these Valentine goodies.  Thank you so much!!!
The pillow is so cute, I love the rick-rack and the chocolate was delicious, my DH helped me with that.  I haven't decided what to make with the fat quarter and ribbons but so many ideas come to mind and of course, I should carry one of the mini lint rollers - I'm always leaving the house with little threads attached to my clothes.

Look at the beautiful postcard Theresa made:

I'm going to get a little stand for it, it will look perfect on the mantle.
Thank you Theresa and Happy Valentine's Day!

By the way, here's what I sent to my Valentine partner Wendy.

Happy Valentine's Day!

One Flower Wednesday, Christmas Through the Year and MAIL!!!

I've missed two weeks posting and looking at blogs, I need to catch up on all I've missed out there.

Here's another Christmas hexie and start of another - they'll become ornaments.
See what other flowers are blooming - visit One Flower Wednesday hosted by Karen.

February's Scrap Club featured the snowball block.  I had a little piece of Maxine fabric and
this mat will go into my Christmas Through The Year box.  Visit the hosts Cheryl and Darlene and see all the great gifts that are being made.

Last Year, in Playing With Blocks Club I was given a challenge to use this green fabric and Whack and Stack method.  I made this table topper and this past weekend I finally quilted and bound it - another project finished!

Also, this past weekend (4 days) I finished my Mystery Club project for May (2012!).  We were given fabric requirements, cutting directions and told to think either reds or blues for berries.  Of course I picked purple...just couldn't make up my mind.  We were given directions when we met and here's the result...

and the most important part...MAIL!!!

I was the Alphabet Challenge winner hosted by Cheryll at Gone Stitchin' .  My daughter already wants a purse...  Thanks for the patterns Cheryll!

MINI BUT MIGHTY!I also joined in on the fun for Cheryll's 12 inch MINI Club and a 'soft' package was waiting for me today.

Thank you Sharon!  I love birdhouses!!!

The mini quilt is beautiful and I love the leaves, buttons,
and beads you added!  It's perfect - my daughter thought
I told you what I liked.  Thank you for the fabric and scissors holder too!

Thank you and have a great week!

Candle Mat Swap

Thank you Sharon for the Beautiful star candle mat!  It looks great on my table (and under the tree where I took the picture).  I love the star pattern, how did you do it?  Thank you also for the fun 'fruity' fabric, I'm not sure what I'm going to make with the one on the left....a summer/beach bag might be a good idea.

Here's what I sent to Sharon - I'm not sure if she opened it yet so I'll post it wrapped.
Thanks Cheryll for doing the swap.
